Why do people always ume that drumline is the coolest in a marching band?

I don't get it. I play tuba for marching band, then also flute and percussion. Don't get me wrong...I tried out for drumline because the snare has always been my favorite but I didn't make it. Our drumline consists of jerks. Lol. So why is that?
