How can Reagan be somebody's hero ?

People think that he defeated ussr, but the truth is that the ussr's econ was already in the pits, but he credited it on his econ plan. He also cut gov't programs so now there are a bunch of homeless, mentally ill people living in the streets. Then he sold weapons with drug money and put murderous dictators in power in south american countries. Ronald reagan was a villain, but for some strange reason, republicans idolize him, even though he did nothing good. Please, republicans, tell me why Reagan was so good, and back it up with real statistical evidence. Seriously. Email me.
