Wrong reg on parking ticket?

I was just helping my mum move house and had put a half hour ticket in my car. Much to my dismay, as I came out literally 1 minute after the ticket had expired, I saw 2 wardens slapping a ticket on my car! Anyway, I've just looked at the ticket and realised they've recorded my reg number wrong by 1 digit. Will/can the council still try and get me? The number plate they've recorded does exist and is the same make, but different model and colour car. No idea whether the wardens took a photo or not? Any advice would be much appreciated. I was actually going to appeal but maybe I shouldn't bother now???
