I have a Hitachi MV580A, and I want to know how to convert the files on it to mpeg or a similar HQ format?

I am running vista and the program that first came with my camera in 2004 DVD MovieAlbum SE is not compatible with vista as Hitachi support has said. So I now have a camera full of videos and I cannont find a conveinient method of transferring the .ifo'f and .vro's to my computer. I don't know much about videos so i would like a simple program. Moviealbum was great but Hitachi says theres just no way i can get it to work on vista...I would like a program that can automatically detect each scnece and be able to export it to mpeg 2(or similar format). Basically I want a program that functioned just like Movealbum.
